George H. Volz

Heaven called our father home Monday May 8th, 2023. Our hearts are heavy but at peace. We appreciate all the wonderful memories that have been shared as he was not only a great dad but a good employer to many over his lifetime and a great friend to many. His infectious smile will be missed.

George H. Volz a resident of Warwick, Pennsylvania died Monday, May 8, 2023 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. He was 87 years old. George was born July 23, 1935 in Eberstadt, Germany, son of the late Georg J. Volz and the late Eva Volz (nee - Schafer). He was predeceased by his two sisters and is also survived by his sister in law Lillian Decker, nieces, and nephews.

George apprenticed as a machinist in Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1957. He and Martha met at the Town Hall Pub after attending a funeral in June of 1958. They were married on April 11, 1959. Initially they lived at Martha's family's farmhouse in Johnsville before moving to Feasterville. In 1965 they moved to live above the family business, Rilling's Bakery, on Frankford Avenue where they stayed until 1972.
